From the Lesson Learned at the University of Oxford to the Dream Come True at the Dusit English Academy

Before Dusit English Academy became a reality at Dusit Central Park, the leadership philosophy behind it was taking shape at the University of Oxford. Our Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Pattisan Kemrichard, completed the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford (Executive Leadership, 2020).

Fueling organisational success in a constantly shifting business environment

I am honoured to share my experience with the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme, as well as my reasons for selecting this prestigious institution as my preferred business school. I embarked on this transformative path in search of a unique educational experience that would enable me to become a more effective and visionary educational leader. Let me explain why I chose this programme and why Oxford stood out from the competition.

The programme's exhaustive curriculum and multidimensional approach set it apart from other options. The programme provided an ideal combination of theoretical and practical knowledge, equipping participants with the skills required to navigate complex business challenges. When I enrolled in the programme, I had high expectations. I anticipated gaining a comprehensive comprehension of leadership principles, honing my strategic thinking skills and expanding my international network. I sought to improve my decision-making abilities and acquire the instruments required to fuel organisational success in a constantly shifting business environment.

I am delighted to declare that the programme not only met but exceeded my expectations. Each module and workshop was meticulously crafted to address the numerous facets of leadership. The interactive nature of the sessions stimulated vibrant discussions and encouraged us to question the status quo. The cohort's diversity further enriched the experience by facilitating cross-cultural collaboration and the exchange of valuable insights.

The profound impact of the programme inspired me to write my doctoral dissertation, The Strategic Leadership Management Of The Luxury Hospitality Industry: an examination of organisational effectiveness by utilising integrated leadership principles at the Swiss School of Business and Management Geneva, Switzerland in order to contribute to the global circular economy through academic research excellence.

Without a doubt, the programme presented its due share of obstacles. I was stretched beyond my comfort zone by the rigorous nature of the coursework and the rigorous expectations. Nonetheless, it was through these obstacles that I experienced the most growth. They instilled in me a sense of resilience and the ability to confidently navigate ambiguity, skills that are essential in today's dynamic business environment and hybrid-changing educational leadership of higher education in the business of the future.

I have successfully led my organisation through complex transformations, utilising the programme's knowledge and insights to drive innovation and adaptability. The personal impact has been equally significant. This programme has broadened my perspective and provided me with a greater sense of purpose and clarity in my leadership trajectory.

The programme's experiences and teachings have become an integral part of my leadership philosophy. I utilise the acquired knowledge to shape the organisational strategy and make well-informed decisions. I've learned to adopt a more inclusive and collaborative leadership style, valuing diverse viewpoints and empowering my team members to contribute their special skills and insights. In addition, the programme has improved my adaptability to swiftly altering market conditions and utilisation of emergent technologies to drive innovation.

A heightened level of self-awareness and a more strategic mindset are what distinguishes me now, having completed the programme. I am now a more envisioned strategic communicator, skilled at articulating a captivating vision, mobilising teams and stimulating positive learner-centric experiences for my international students towards shared objectives and purpose-driven missions.

I would enthusiastically advocate one of Oxford's programmes to anyone who is considering applying. The combination of academic rigour, practical application and exposure to a diverse and accomplished cohort is genuinely unmatched. This programme will challenge, motivate and equip you with the skills necessary to flourish in today's complex business environment.

If I had to characterise my time at Oxford in a single word, it would be 'transformational'. The programme has altered my perspective, increased my capabilities and redefined my leadership philosophy. It has acted as a catalyst for my personal and professional development, propelling me to greater success.

Noteworthy is the post-programme community, including the Oxford Business Alumni (OBA) Network. It offers a forum for continued education, networking and collaboration with professionals who share a common connection with Oxford. By participating in networking events, seminars and alumni gatherings, I have gained access to diverse perspectives and cutting-edge insights that have enriched my leadership trajectory.

My decision to enrol in the programme was a tremendous learning journey of a lifetime. It surpassed my expectations by providing me with invaluable leadership skills, broadening my perspective and allowing me to make an enduring impact on my organisation.
